Services Descriptions & Charges

Electricity
The allowance is towards the overall cost of supply throughout the booking and includes any electricity used when students are not resident, i.e. Holidays, Weekends. It is up to the residents of the property to ensure that the heater is not left on in times of absence. Please note that there are meter rentals and other service charges by the ESB and these are all included in the service charge. It should also be noted that any over run is charged from the deposit at the end of the year. As the ESB service only now read the meters 2 times a year, which is of no use to you as the occupants on a budget, the management company make every effort to give accurate meter readings and usage of your allowance. The ESB meter readings are available in the office at any time for you to view. Please note that residents pay a contribution, already included in payment, of €50 towards the provision of public lighting.

General Services
These include such items as TV licence, multi-channel television, Refuse, Maintenance and Recycling. Please note that you are required to recycle as much waste as possible and a recycling centre will be situated on site. Plastic, Glass, Cardboard, Batteries etc. should all be recycled so as to reduce the waste going in to landfill sites.

Bicycles
Bicycles must be stored in the cycle stores provided. Any bicycle found in the houses or apartments will be removed and a fine of €50 will be payable for the return of same.

Security
No responsibility is taken for student’s individual personal property and this includes cars and bicycles. Students must take responsibility and ensure that the doors and windows to houses and apartments are not left open and unattended. Any student who invites or encourages non-residents into the complex must take responsibility for their actions.

Anti-social Behaviour
Under no circumstances will anti-social or bad behaviour be accepted in any of our properties. Should a resident or guest/friend be found to be bringing the property or complex into disrepute you should be aware that it will lead to a fine or eviction and the matter will be reported to the relevant college authorities and parents/guardians. Serious breaches of the Code of Conduct may also be reported to the Gardai (Police).

Fire Alarms
Fire alarms are in place to warn of a potential fire.

DO NOT INTERFERE/PLAY WITH OR DAMAGE THIS VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT. IT IS A CRIMINIAL OFFENCE TO DO SO AND WILL BE REPORTED TO THE FIRE OFFICER WHO WILL PURSUE AN OFFENDER THROUGH THE COURTS.

IN ADDITION THERE WILL BE A FINE OF €300 LEVIED AGAINST ANY STUDENT FOUND TO BE IN BREACH OF THIS RULE.
